BIRDIE

A bird feeder designed to bring wildlife within arm's reach of daily life. A single curved sheet of plywood folds over a slim metal base, casting shade across the feeding area while shielding the seed from rain and wind. The silhouette is derived from the golden rectangle, geometrized into one continuous gesture — the proportion does the structural work, and the shelter is a consequence of the form rather than an addition to it.

The base holds a removable tray that lifts out for refilling and cleaning, keeping maintenance to a few seconds. Clear suction cups mount the feeder directly onto a window, placing the birds at eye level and leaving the inner face of the glass free: a phone or camera can sit on the other side, turning an ordinary pane into a quiet observation post.
